My approach to illustration is to distill down the essence of the copy and provide simple, relatable visual metaphors that resonate and entertain the viewer.
For each commission I typically provide 3 to 5 conceptual sketches. My goal is to provide enough great options that it's often difficult to pick just one. But if needed, I'll provide additional rounds based on feedback and more direction.
I then email the client the illustrations as a low-res JPEGs for review. After approval a link is sent to download the reproduction files (typically a 300dpi TIF RGB file) using Dropbox or the client's preferred FTP method.
